We are all familiar with Social Engineering, we experience it every day, its covered in the media and is utilised in various different contexts. However, a common theme that I read about, but also have people talk to me about is … just how stupid these idiots are to get socially engineered in the first place.
I don’t mind saying that this really frustrates me, I understand why this can be the perception, and in the corporate world there is always a drive to hold someone accountable, a witch hunt if you will, but the fact is on the right day, at the right time and via the right mechanism everyone can fall foul of a well crafted social engineering attack.
So I thought I would record a short video to share my thoughts, and explain why in my opinion, that when you get socially engineered you will feel stupid, but it doesn’t mean you are an idiot.
